Networking Trainer

The Networking Trainer is responsible for delivering structured, practical networking instruction to students enrolled in IT and Cyber Security programmes. The role focuses on building strong networking foundations, ensuring learners understand how networks function, how data moves, and how infrastructure is designed, configured, and troubleshot. The trainer prepares students for progression into cyber security, systems administration, cloud, and SOC roles, and supports learners working toward recognised networking certifications. This role requires deep conceptual understanding combined with hands-on teaching capability, not just operational experience.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Strong practical understanding of computer networking fundamentals.

  • Minimum certification level:





    • Network+ (or equivalent knowledge and experience).





  • Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or supporting learners in technical subjects.

  • Ability to explain complex networking concepts clearly to non-specialists.

  • Experience delivering hands-on, lab-based instruction.


 

Desirable

  • CCNA or equivalent vendor certification (strongly preferred).

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting:





    • Cisco or equivalent networking equipment

    • VLANs, routing, and basic access control





  • Familiarity with:





    • Linux and Windows networking fundamentals

    • Network security concepts relevant to cyber operations





  • Formal training, instructional, or Train-the-Trainer qualification.
